We ran into no issues during the smoke test, so we've just sent out the remaining surveys. This is your chance to pay for shipping and pickup add-ons. Keep in mind we won't be locking addresses for some time, so you have plenty of change to update that in the future.
Have a wonderful holiday season and reach out with any issues you might have! In January we'll start back with a steady flow of fresh art and items to keep you updated.
Smoke Tests are Out!

Hi friends,
Our smoke tests are out, which means roughly five percent of you will be getting emails to confirm your pledge, pick up any add-ons you want, and pay for your shipping and VAT as applicable. We use this process to identify any issues with the survey or shipping. If everything goes smoothly, we'll open up surveys to everyone else in the coming days.

A Note on Existing Digital Rewards
Here is a little more information on the digital rewards from previous campaigns that were offered in this campaign. Once you complete your survey, you will immediately have access in BackerKit to the following PDFs
- Grizelda's Guide to Ghost Hunting
- Grizelda's Cursed Curiosities
- Siege of the Silver Stag
we are putting the finishing touches on Zander's Guide to Zombie Hunting and the Almanac of Allies, with both of those available soon. For digital rewards, that leaves the VTT modules. While these are completed, we still have to request the keys from both Foundry and Roll20. I hope to have those ready within a week or so.
The new digital rewards - namely the PDF version of Treasures From The Astral Forge - is on track to be delivered in August 2025 as planned. In future updates we'll share more art and other details!
Survey Smoke Test Coming Soon

Hi friends,
I had hoped to have this out a little sooner, but a combination of other deadlines and some minor health issues has me running behind. The good news is that BackerKit is now set up, and I'll be submitting the surveys for their approval today.
From there, it typically takes a day or two for them to approve the surveys or offer any suggested changes. Once approved, we'll send out the smoke test. For those who are not familiar with it, the smoke test is sent out to around 10 percent of backers in an effort to identify any errors or issues before it is sent to the full backer pool. If everything looks good, surveys will go out 2-3 days after the smoke test.
Once you get your survey and complete it, you will get access to the digital rewards from our past projects that have already been completed. Please note that we're still working on Treasures From the Astral Forge, which I expect to complete on time.
Your survey is also your opportunity to pickup add-ons or change your pledge level. This is also where you will pay your shipping costs and confirm your address. Not to worry if you have a move coming up; you'll be able to go back in and alter your address up until the time to ship the physical rewards.
I'll be back with an update when the smoke test goes out, and we'll have more art for you soon as well!

Hi friends,
We are quietly plugging away at Treasures From The Astral Forge in the background, but I wanted to give you an update on our timeline moving forward.
Next Week: Pledge Manager Opens
We have been testing out the late pledge option on Kickstarter since the campaign closed, but we'll be wrapping that up shortly. The first week of November, we will close late pledges here on Kickstarter, send out surveys via BackerKit, and open our prelaunch store there.
Once the pledge manager opens, you'll have the chance to pay for shipping and pick up any add-ons you didn't get during the campaign. We'll also distribute all of the digital rewards from past campaigns, like PDF copies of Grizelda's Guide to Ghost Hunting. We're still working on all of the new content, which we're on track with.
Next Month: More Previews
Also in November, we'll drop a few more preview items with fresh art for you to try out. We'll drip feed those as we flesh out the project in the coming months. For now, we're on track with an on-time release, and we're optimistic about having the PDF to you earlier than that.

Here we are, 48 hours until the grand finale! Thank you so much for your support, we can't wait to bring this book to life. I love designing for 5E, but magic items will always be my favorite part.
Looking at what comes next, we'll open up the late pledge option here on Kickstarter as soon as the campaign ends. Currently, we expect to rely on BackerKit for our pledge manager, but we'll hold off for a few weeks on opening up the surveys. We will also be discussing whether or not to wait to charge shipping later on when it is time to deliver.
Along the way, we'll keep dropping more art and sample items to keep you and your players rolling in loot. Lastly, if you want to discuss the project or just hang out, drop in to our discord channel any time!
Other Fun Projects
We've been collaborating with the folks at Foundry VTT for some time now, and their first entry into the RPG space is live on Kickstarter!
Ember is an online tabletop roleplaying game which is a hybrid between a tabletop RPG and a multiplayer digital game. It has all the elements of a traditional pen and paper RPG but is enhanced with features inspired by video games to create a compelling hybrid of dynamic gameplay and a classical foundation.
There are two ways to play Ember; using the familiar Dungeons & Dragons Fifth Edition ruleset or using the innovative digital roleplaying system Crucible developed exclusively for Foundry Virtual Tabletop.
Murder at the Old Wolf Inn is a sleuth mystery adventure inspired by Agatha Christie for 5e
systems.
